There are several agencies in our area that may be able to provide assistance.  Please reach out to the agencies below to see what assistance you may be eligible for.

  • Palmetto Community Action Partnership (843) 724-6760
    • Appointments: 1-844-769-6448 (Appointments only on Fridays)
      • Serves Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester counties
      • Assists with:
        • Utility Bill
        • Rental ($300/mo for 5 months, may increase based upon need)
        • Childcare Fees
        • New Hire Costs (first 2 weeks up to $600)
          • **Must provide New Hire Letter
        • Education Assistance (current and/or upcoming semester only)
        • Certification Assistance
          • **Only for TTC certificates

      • Food Distribution Tues-Thurs 10am-2pm
        *Eligibility varies by program and some services are available to all Tri-County residents and beyond

    • Financial assistance up to $200 with few exclusions such as telephone bill, hotels, etc.

    • Serves James Island, Johns Island & Wadmalaw Island (M-Th 10am-1:30pm)
    • Assists with:
      • Food
      • Utility (once every 12 mo)
      • Rental (once every 12 mo)
      • Filing government assistance (Unemployment, SNAP, etc.)
      • Bag lunches (Downtown Chas.)
      • Free OBGYN services resume end of June (Johns Island)
      • Free dental services resume in July (Johns Island)
    • **Clients required to take Budgeting Class
