There are several different scenarios that would warrant the removal of a member on a joint account; however, the other member must sign away their ownership to the account in order to be removed. When they do so, they remove all claims of ownership to any capital credits that have been accrued on the account.
Because of the legal nature of the relinquishment, it must be completed by the person who is being removed from the account and the form must be notarized before being returned. You can print the form below and return it in person or by mail. If not returned in person, a copy of the relinquishing member's photo ID must accompany the form.
