At Berkeley Electric Cooperative, we know that the last thing you want to worry about is your water heater which is why we offer the H2O Select®Water Heater Warranty.
The US Department of Energy has changed the standards for conventional storage type water heaters. The result of this new standard required the phase out of 75+ storage type water heaters effective December 2021. 75+ gallon water heaters are no longer available for purchase. Berkeley Electric Cooperative purchased a large allotment of these heaters so we could continue to service our existing H2O Select Members who have a 75+ gallon water heater. As it has been 12 months since our last shipment, our stock of these water heaters is nearly depleted. As a result, we have to modify our program and can provide you two (2) options moving forward.
Option 1: Change your warranty coverage to the 50 gallon tank size. Your monthly premium will be reduced to the $7 level. With this option, we will continue to service your 75+ gallon tank for REPAIRS, but if the tank requires replacement, we would replace the tank with a 50 gallon water heater.
Option 2: Continue at the $11 level. With this option, we’d continue to service your tank for repairs but if the tank required replacement, we’d install a 50 gallon tank with a mixing valve to increase your hot water capacity to a comparable level of an 80 gallon tank.
After signing up, there will be a 30-day waiting period before a claim can be made. The minimum contract length is five years. Please contact your local district office for full details or send us an e-mail.
